Consilience is a word recently brought back in fashion by E.O. Wilson who proposes to unify knowledge by melding natural sciences with all other branches of knowledge. I find this enterprise just great!

The tree of life
I just watched "the tree of life" and its not much more than religious propaganda with some nice pictures, some moving parts and many boring parts.
I could not agree more. The film irritated me in its obvious and heavy handed proselytizing.
